Beer bars are simple places with a dozen or more female staff. Sipping your beer, chatting and losing at Connect 4 are the normal pastimes. The girls don't tend to be too pushy but are obviously available for other activities if customers take a particular liking to any.

Most go-gos are centred around Walking Street, but there are others dotted around town. These tend to have a centre stage with chrome poles, which girls dance around, while punters sit around the edges. Girls here can be a lot more direct and the prices tend to be higher than in the beer bars.

Finally, there is a growing number of quality clubs in Pattaya that have a more Western, upmarket feel.
