Having lived in Thailand for some time, there is still plenty that amazes us.

Take advertising, for instance. Usually the problem is that companies spend thousands of baht on good advertising, only to screw up the English. That’s why we’ve seen signs for the ‘Strwaberries Bar’ and ‘fried crap’. The one below caught our eye today.

Baccara is a fantastically well-designed club, with two levels of action. As well as a busy downstairs area, upstairs there's a more laid-back dance floor and more seating. The second floor has its own sunken dance floor, with see-through glass, so you can gawp at the girls down below too.

Even if you never stay in the Dusit Thani, you need to see the lobby. Its gigantic atrium fills up most of the space, providing a magnificent welcome for those who visit this five-star resort. The 40 acres of manicured gardens overlook two beachfronts. The lobby's atrium includes a waterfall and more greenery, and sipping tea and munching on the delicious pastries that are served by the entrance is highly recommended.
